The Bateman family sadly lost, a wife, mother and nan, when Sensei Chris Bateman passed in 2020. She was a founder of Kazoku Karate, Kodokan Martial Arts and an excellent instructor to all the students who now sadly miss her. Sensei Chris was a 3rd Dan and a strict but fair sensei that brought out the fine points in the students she coached. She became Kazoku’s Kumite and Kata Coach and was their by the mat during competitions encouraging her competitors on.
She helped behind the scenes in running the group and schools and did so much in the MKKI-UK’s yearly Gasshukus.
She is sadly missed by all but will be looking down on all of us making sure we train with heart and to the best of our capabilities.
